Rapper Xzibit: ‘Planking Is Racist, Not Funny’

After ‘planking’ seemed to have swept over Hollywood faster than you can say ‘Kabbalah,’ there’s one lonely adversary who’s standing up against those that are laying down. Rapper Xzibit took to Twitter to express his extreme disapproval of the trend.

“Planking is THE dumbest sh-t ever,” Xzibit . “#Planking was a way to transport slaves on ships during the slave trade, its not funny. Educate.”

From Rosario Dawson and Ellen Page to Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, celebrities have been laying down straight and narrow left and right.

That steady hum for BSO at Tanglewood

LENOX – It was only the second weekend of the Boston Symphony Orchestras season at Tanglewood, but the place was already running on a relaxed summer cruise control. Stalwart veterans and younger musicians each had a night in front of the orchestra. Both programs were built around a well-known symphony and a major Romantic concerto. Soloists kept the flame on medium heat. The biggest buzz was about Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who was spotted in the Shed on Friday night, and the weather, which was lovely for both days.

The more interesting concert came on Saturday night, with the Finnish conductor John Storgaards replacing James Levine to make his BSO debut in an all-Sibelius program.

Justin Timberlake Accepts the Call to the Marine Corps Ball

Looks like Mila Kunis won’t be the only celeb attending a Marine Corps Ball.

Not long after Justin Timberlake convinced his Friends with Benefits co-star to accept a Youtube invite to the ball held in North Carolina, the “SexyBack” crooner received an invite of his own…and he just agreed to take the marine up on her offer (if, you know, his schedule permits).
