Kylie Minogue has stated that she is proud of her decision to perform in Japan so soon after the natural disasters that devastated the country. The ‘All The Lovers’ singer took her acclaimed ‘Aphrodite-Les Folies’ tour to Tokyo on Saturday, but confessed to Contactmusic that she had been tempted to cancel the show out of respect for the 14,000 people lost in March’s earthquake and tsunami. She admitted: “I thought long and hard about it and it wasn’t an easy decision to make. I was in shock like the rest of the world at the devastation here ,and in the end I wanted to come.” Minogue, who attended a fundraising gala for earthquake victims before appearing on stage, also visited Twitter upon the conclusion of the show to express her gratitude for the Japanese crowd. She gushed: “Tokyo… You were a*m*a*z*i*n*g!!!! So emotional so fun so beautiful!! (sic)”Minogue is set to play dates in Canada, the US and Mexico before bringing her ‘Aphrodite-Les Folies’ tour to an end in Las Vegas on May 22.
