Björk continues to unveil Biophilia, her most interdisciplinary project to date, with today’s release of the Biophilia App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and first two album singles “Cosmogony” and “Crystalline” on the iTunes Store. The full Biophilia album will be released on September 27 through One Little Indian/Nonesuch Records; the five physical versions are available for pre-order now in the Nonesuch Store, including the custom-made Biophilia Manual and Ultimate Edition.

The groundbreaking director and longtime Björk collaborator Michel Gondry is also creating a music video for “Crystalline,” which will be premiered on YouTube on July 26.

Forget the ‘Edge of Glory,’ according to a report from Star magazine , Lady Gaga is on a dangerous edge when it comes to her health. From her eating habits to her extreme self-scrutinizing, apparently it is just a matter of time before Gaga’s unhealthy lifestyle catches up with her.

“Those who have worked with her on tour reported to me that Gaga barely ate for weeks at a time to fit into her costume,” investigative journalist, Ian Halperin told Star. “She is sick and obsessed with her weight. Read more…

Wild Flag is the most exciting new rock band I’ve seen this year, though it’s really not “new”: all the band members have impressive resumes that stretch back 20 years. Weiss and Brownstein were two-thirds of the great indie-rock band Sleater-Kinney. Timony fronted the masterly atmospheric Helium and myriad other projects, and Cole was a mainstay in the Minders. The hip-hop pair contacted singer-songwriter Verse Simmonds to work on their collaborative project Watch The Throne, which will be released in August.

Speaking about working with producer Sham Joseph on material for the duo, Simmonds told MTV: “What we did is, we locked in a week, we just went crazy on everything Jay and Kanye.”

A documentary following Sir Paul McCartney on the day of the World Trade Centre attack will air on Showtime this year, one decade after 9/11.

Titled “The Love We Make“, the film begins on the day of the attack when Sir Paul’s plane was grounded at a New York airport and continues to document his journey through the city and the preparaton of his gig at Madison Square Garden a month later.

It was an honor to be able to help New York and America at that time in its history“, McCartney said in a statement. “There was a feeling of shock and fear in the air that I thought we could help alleviate with music.
