DC’s relaunch of their entire universe was a bold initiative that has proven to be a sales success. Conjecture over the sustainability of improved market share remains a topic of concern amongst comics pundits.  However, November’s sales numbers proved to be even better news for DC, garnering them approximately 50% market share.  One debate that’s yet to be quelled relates to the overall quality of the rebooted titles.

Miriam Haskell opened her first retail boutique in 1926 at the McAlpin Hotel in NYC. Named Le Bijou de l’Heure, which, if my high school French still serves me, roughly translates as “the Jewel of the Hour,” the boutique was filled with her spectacular custom-made creations.

Catering to the best-dressed society women of the day, Miriam attracted many fans including Coco Chanel and later, Lucille Ball, Joan Crawford and the Duchess of Windsor.

Ever the tease, Campari have just released behind the scenes images from the Milla Jovovich 2012 calendar shoot. Set to be officially launched next week, these behind the scenes images have been release early for us all to dissect and analyse until our hearts content. Though they don’t reveal much, Jovovich sports an afro in some pictures while there is an abundance of bright bold colours in the makeup and clothes.

To the world, Winston Moseley was the notorious killer of Catherine “Kitty” Genovese, the woman who was repeatedly stabbed outside her Queens apartment in 1964 as many people heard her cries for help.

But in Buffalo, to those who recall the dying days of the winter of 1968, Moseley might be better known as an escaped convict and one-man crime wave who terrorized this region during three days of rape, home invasions and hostage-takings.

State parole officials decided last month that even at age 76, after spending more than half his life in prison, Moseley remains a threat to the community who should not be considered for release for at least another two years.
