DKNY and DKNY Jeans have just announced that they have signed Twilight star Ashley Greene as the newest face for their Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaign, currently being photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Ive always loved Donna Karans creations. To be a part of the brands’ message is incredibly exciting because it feels like such an organic fit. It’s easy to talk about how these clothes work for my lifestyle, whether Im in New York, L.A. or traveling for work, Greene says in a press release announcing the news.

Greene has been signed for an exclusive one year agreement with the American brand, a relationship which began when she wore DKNY to the Berlin premiere of Twilight Eclipse last year, followed by a front row seat to the DNKY Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. The

Ever since he became president of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in April 2006, Terry Dwyer has nurtured a vision: to make the place more accessible, affordable and, above all, hip. He wants his temple of culture to be a destination for people who don’t normally go to temples of culture.

Some might call such a notion foolish.

A scene from “Chautauqua!,” part of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Off Center Festival. It runs from Jan. 13-15. It is inspired by the Chautauqua Circuit, a wildly popular traveling lecture series that flourished from 1874 to the Great Depression. Read more…

Though the release of Warner Brothers’ highly anticipated sequel The Dark Knight Rises is still nearly seven months away, the fact that it’s now 2012 makes it seem a lot closer. Last month, we witnessed the first theatrical trailer for the film which made my anticipation for the movie practically unbearable. I mean I have to be honest, when the studio first greenlit the picture, I was shaking my head in disbelief. Out of all the villains Christopher Nolan could bring to life, he chose Bane? And don’t even get me started on Catwoman’s costume. Nevertheless, having seen the trailer and dozens upon dozens of photos, Christopher Nolan made one bad ass villain out of Bane. Read more…

B ack off Confederate South: Britney Spears is off your bazaar — her boyfriend, Jason Trawick, proposed over the weekend.

Celebrity jeweler, Neil Lane worked closely with JT (she would bang another JT) to design a ring that “looks like a mini crown.”

“Jason is a romantic and when I asked him to tell me about Britney … his response was always the same — she is his princess!” Lane told People.
